Lifelong Resident of Vicinity

Died in Adams Twp. Monday

Mrs. Cidna J. Bainter, aged 82, died Monday morning, Nov. 21, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Bainter Thresh, Adams Township, after an illness from infirmities.

The deceased was the daughter of the late George W. and Mary E. Slater and had been a resident of this community her entire life. She was born in Highland Township. Early in life she was united in marriage with Jonas Bainter who passed to the great beyond in 1881. She had been a faithful member of the New Hope Lutheran Church all of her adult life. She was a woman of high moral character and loved and respected by her countless friends and neighbors. She was of a quiet and unassuming disposition, living her life gently, and without ostentation, leaving an example that others might well emulate.

Mrs. Bainter is survived by one daughter, Mrs. H. E. Thresh, at whose home she died, and one son, Attorney Paul Bainter of Zanesville. Also surviving are two brothers, F. M. Slater, Monroe Township and W. H. Slater, New Concord, and one sister, Mrs. Susan Souder of Lovettsville, Va. One granddaughter, Miss Pauline Thresh also survives.

Funeral services will be held at New Hope Church Wednesday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Dale C. Recker and burial will be made in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of undertaker, H. E. Shirer of Adamsville.
