Frank Cone Gaumer, second child of Dr. T. M. and Eliza Margaret (Cone) Gaumer, b. Adamsville, O., Dec. 16, 1879. Upon his graduation from the Urbana High School, Class of 1899, he at once took over the management of the "Champaign Democrat," and, as has been said, "became one of the bright particular stars in the journalistic world, having had considerable experience in that field while still a high school boy, as, owing to the death of his father, he, with his mother and elder brother, managed the paper.

He is a member of the I. O. O. F., is unmarried, and lives with his widowed mother, to whom he is a tenderly devoted and dutiful son.2

URBANA EDITOR PASSES AWAY

Frank C. Gaumer Former Adams-
ville Boy Answers Call
Last Saturday.


    Frank C. Gaumer, editor of the Urbana Daily Democrat, and president and general manager of the Gaumer publishing company of Urbana, Ohio, died at the Grant Hospital at Columbus last Saturday, September 27, 1924, following a two week's illness of pneumonia.


    Mr. Gaumer was 46 years of age and was the son of Dr. and Mrs. T. M. Gaumer, formerly of Adamsville and his boyhood days were spent in this village. He has been in the newspaper business all his life and his success as a newspaper man has been recognised by the leading publishers of this country.


    He is survived by his wife and one son, also his mother, Mrs. T. M. Gaumer of Urbana, two brothers, Charles C. Gaumer, of Urbana, and Bruce B. Gaumer of Marysville. He was a nephew of Mrs. E. F. Buker and Miss Martha Gaumer of this village.


    Funeral service was held at Urbana, Tuesday.
