    Mrs. Emma M. Gaumer, aged 72, of Zanesville, widow of the late Daniel H. Gaumer, former owner and publisher of the Zanesville Signal, passed away at her home on Dresden Road Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock. She had been an invalid for the past three years. Death was attributed to a stroke which she sustained one week ago.


    Mrs. Gaumer was a woman of unusual intelligence and possessed a personality of attractive attributes which endeared her to the hosts of friends wherever she was known. She was a member of the Grace M. E. Church in Zanesville and was an active and devoted worker in the affairs of the congregation while health permitted.


    Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Jane Lefferts, Jackson, Mich., and two brothers, Roy Kennedy of Zanesville and Howard Kennedy, Wauscon, Ohio and a number of nephews and nieces. Mrs. Gaumer was an aunt of the publishers of the Register.


    Funeral services will be held at Grace M. E. Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. M. Shimmer and Rev. O. L. Seward. Interment will be made in Greenwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 to 2 o'clock to be viewed by friends. The casket will be closed by 2 p.m.
