EDWIN R. HILEMAN, 71, of Glenmore, Ohio, died Saturday, July 8, 2006, 9:14 p.m., at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born June 11, 1935, in Decatur, he was the son of the late M. Guy Hileman and Donna (Royer) of rural Ohio City, Ohio. He married Patty A. (Hunter) on Oct. 18, 1953. He retired from International Harvester and farmed for many years. Surviving are his daughters, Brenda (Kent) Smith of Van Wert, Ronda (Alex) Sinning of Ohio City and Deb (Mike) Bagley of Van Wert; brother, Robert M. (Sandy) Hileman of Ohio City; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm, Ohio, with the Rev. Robert Becker officiating. Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, with Masonic service at 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary Food Fund (Zion Lutheran Church) or donor's choice.

GLENMORE, Ohio — Edwin R. Hileman, 71, of Glenmore, died at 9:14 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was born June 11, 1935, in Decatur, Ind., to Donna (Royer) Hileman, who survives of rural Ohio City, and the late M. Guy Hileman . On Oct. 18, 1953, he married Patty A. (Hunter), who survives.

Other survivors include three daughters, Brenda (Kent) Smith of Van Wert, Ohio, Ronda (Alex) Sinning of Ohio City and Deb (Mike) Bagley of Van Wert; a brother, Robert M. (Sandy) Hileman of Ohio City; 10 grandchildren, Jason (Jeneane) Krugh, Jennifer (Sean) Kennedy, Joseph (Pam) Krugh, Joshua Krugh, Jared (Jessica) Sinning, Destinee (Andy) Knittle, Colby Black, and Dylan, Skye and Cameron Bagley; 10 great-grandchildren, Devin Krugh, Allison, Drew and Emma Kennedy, Hannah and Jordan Krugh, Kameron Krugh, Kaden Sinning and Emiree and Creeden Knittle, also five step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two children, Carla Hileman and Randy Hileman, and two grandchildren, Travis Scheidt and Nikki Sinning.

Mr. Hileman retired from International Harvester and farmed for many years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm, Ohio, where he served on the Cemetery Board. He was also a member of Mason Lodge 592, Ohio City, Scottish Rite of Fort Wayne, Masonic Shriners, Shriners Little 500 Club, B.P.O.E. Lodge 1197, Van Wert, Van Wert Moose Lodge and Rockford Eagles Lodge.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2006, at Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm. The Rev. Robert Becker will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, Ohio.

Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert. Masonic services will be held Thursday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary Food Fund (Zion Lutheran Church) or the donor’s choice.
