Martha "Lady" Ann Williamson Edington, 90, of Wallace, Neb., died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, Neb.
Martha was born Aug. 7, 1914 to David and Hattie Clemens Fulk on the farm 10 miles south of Wallace, where she grew up. She attended school south of Wallace on school house hill.
Martha married Virgil Roe Edington on April 4, 1930 in Holyoke, Colo. They made their home south of Wallace where they farmed and ranched until 1987 when they retired and moved into Wallace. They would have been married 75 years this coming April.
Along with the love for her family, she had a passion for cooking, going for Sunday rides and looking at the new crops, and liked to ride along when the baby calves were tagged.
Martha was a member of the Wallace United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a strong Christian woman and was always willing to share her faith.
Survivors include her husband Virgil of Wallace; a daughter Jacqueline and husband Richard "Ram" Myers of North Platte; two sons Ron and wife Lila Edington of Wallace, and Kent and wife Shelly Edington of Hershey, Neb.; eight grandchildren including Kevin and wife Patty Myers of Omaha, Syrena and husband Keith Davis, Kathy and husband Bill Mattocks and Stephanie and husband Chon Dilly all of North Platte, Rhonda and husband Scott Nelson of Sutherland, Neb., Matthew Edington of Wallace, Luke and wife Kylie Edington of North Platte, and Kassie and husband Matt Pelster of Elsie, Neb; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and other family.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Vaughn Virgil Eding-ton and infant twin sons; her parents; three brothers, Harvey Fulk, Raymond Fulk and Wilman Fulk.
The funeral service was Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005 at the Wallace United Methodist Church with Pastor Jurdan Counts officiating. Burial was in the Morningview Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the Wallace United Methodist Church.
Odean Colonial Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.2
