Funeral Services Held in Christian Church December 12

Mrs. Mary T. Replogle, one of Coldwater's most highly respected mothers, passed away quietly in the Comanche County Hospital December 10, 1957, after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held in the Christian church in this city Thursday afternoon, December 12, and were in charge of Rev. C. W. Roll of Turon, Kans. a former pastor of the church of this city.

Raymond Cline, accompanied by Mrs. E. H. Gregg, sang "The Holy City" and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Cline, accompanied by Mrs. Roy Burkhall, sang "When They Ring Those Golden Bells."

The Active pallbearers were Victor and Vernie White, Lowell Lytle, Gene Uhl, Renous Allen and Bob Gilchrest and the honorary pallbearers were Leslie and Porter Smith, Wilford Betzer, Horace Rich, Lawrence York, James Alderdice, Billy Jarnagin and Cecil Wilson.

Interment was in Crown Hill cemetery by the side of her husband.

Obituary.

Mary Theodora Cummings, a daughter of Francis Marion and Rachel Welling Cummings, was born October 2, 1879, in Yankee Ridhe, Walhonding county, Ohio, and departed this life on December 10, 1957, in Coldwater, Kans., at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 9 days.

At the age of nine she was baptized into Christ at the Chrisian church at Walhonding, Ohio, by her father, who was the minister of the church.

Her young life was spent in Ohio, wherever her father's ministerial work called him.

She was united in marriage on November 23, 1898, at Marlboro, Ohio, with Henry Allen Replogle, who preceded her in death on April 22, 1949.

To this union were born six childen. Three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

In 1902 the family moved to Anthony, Kans., where Mr. Replogle taught School, carried mail and farmed.

In 1910 the family moved to a ranch in the San Luis Valley in Colorado, returning to the vicinity of Coldwater in 1911, where the home has since been maintained.

Mary Replogle had been a member of the Coldwater Christian church since in January, 1914, and had an active and devoted interest in her church through the many years.

She was a member of the Royal Neighbors camp in which she held the office of Oracle and was a Past Noble Grand of the Rebekah lodge. She also took and active interest in the Writers Club, Farm Bureau Extension, Golden Age Club and the Phoebe Circle of her church.

The survivors are: Claude Replogle of Arlington, Va., Miss Vivian Replogle of Coldwater, Wayne and Glenn Replogle of Lawrence, Kans., Mrs. Frances Billings of Ness City and Commander Max Replogle, U.S.N., of Cecil Field, Fla.; also seven grandchildren and one step-grandson.

Mrs. Replogle was a kindly person, deeply devoted to her family and her church. Hers was an exemplary life, well lived. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
