Note*   Johannes was better known as Dieter. He came to the U.S. on the ship,"The Snow Molly" which arrived in Philidelphia on 9/10/1737. Dieter was too young to be listed on the ships list but his father & brother were listed.

Dieter and Catherine lived in Macungie Twp., Northampton (now Lehigh) Co., PA.

He is buried in Zions Union Cemetary near Allentown, PA. He was a deacon of the Evangelical Lutheran Congregation in 1773.

Another Jacob Gaumer is supposed to be the son of Jacob and Maria ‘Elizabeth’ (Meinert). This Jacob was born on Nov. 21, 1773. His name has only been found in “Gaumer Family Notes” compiled in 1964 by Eber Cockley of Meyersdale, PA, co-founder of the Somerset (PA) Historical Society.

it is stated in those notes, written in 1796 that, Jacob married Catherine Keiser (1765- ? ). They had 4 children – Daniel Gaumer, Lydia Gaumer, Anna Maria Gaumer and George Gaumer.

Their fates are unknown.
