| News/Obit* | 1 June 1993 | Obituary, Metta Parrish dies at 101 PARIS -Merietta “Metta” Parrish, 101, of Paris, died 3:25 p.m. Monday (May 31, 1993) in Paris Community Hospital. Services will be 10:30 p.m. Thursday in Sutton & Son Funeral Home, Paris, with Brother James Rue and Brother Joe Miller officiating. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery, Paris. Mrs. Parrish was born Sept. 27, 1891 in Clark County, the daughter of Thomas Goodman Forsythe and Margaret Laufman. She was an active member of the Oliver Church of Christ. She married Verner Parrish on Oct. 28, 1914, in Paris. He died March 23, 1988. Surviving are her son, Hall G. Parrish, Paris; daughter, Mrs. Bert (Wilma L.) Lammey, Terre Haute, Ind.; brothers, Russell Forsythe, Libertyville, Ind.; daughter-in-law, Annabelle Parrish, Paris; four grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren.
