| News/Obit* | 7 July 2005 | Obituary, Elizabeth Jane McCauley Hiler, 71, of Mt. Ulla, N.C. and formerly of Topeka, Kan. and Salem, Va., died on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at Britthaven of Davidson. She was born on December 13, 1933 in Salem, Va. to the late Ola Mae Barrier McCauley and James Pinkerton McCauley, Sr. Mrs. Hiler was a homemaker and loved craft making and the making of stuffed animals. She loved horses dearly. She was a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class. Mrs. Hiler was also a former member of the West Rowan Nutrition Site as well as a cook for the First Southern Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan. Mrs. Hiler was preceded in death by her husband, James Howery Hiler; a brother, James P. McCauley; and two sisters, Mary Virginia Greer and Margaret Ellen Sumrell. She is survived by a brother, John W. McCauley of Salem, Va.; a sister, Dorothy McCauley Butler of Salem, Va. and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Cleveland First Baptist Church. The Rev. Bobby Seagroves and the Rev. Glenn Dancy, III will officiate the service. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be Friday in Salem, Va. Summersett Funeral Home is service the family. Memorials may be made to Cleveland First Baptist Church, P.O.
