Mrs. Mable E. Firestone, 91, formerly of Darlington Way, died Saturday evening at a local health care center.

A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Firestone was born September 27, 1904, the daughter of the late Solomon Omar Everett and Myrtise Burns Everett. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude C. Firestone, Sr. in December, 1978, and by a son, Carl Firestone, in December, 1987.

Mrs. Firestone was a member of the West Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Claude C. Firestone, Jr., Rome, one daughter, Katherine F. Carter, Romer, eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. at the graveside in the West Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Talmadge Barnes officiating. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
