Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM for Elbert Shirar of 802 N. Indianola St. in Cuero who died in local hospital Thursday. Mr. Shirar a native of Salina, Kansas had worked for the city of Cuero for sometime prior to his retirement due to ill health. Born Nov 5, 1889 to William Henry and Alberta Young Shirar, is survived by wife, Mrs. Carrie Scharde Shirar, who he married in Houston Nov. 27, 1929 and one sister, 1 brother and 2 sons. Sister, Mrs. Gertrude Shirar of Kenedy, brother Veff Shirar of Kenedy. Two sons, Cecil Henry and Harold Elbert, both of Culver City, Ca. Funeral held at Frunde Chapel and burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Dr. D. H. Truhitte, pastor Calvary Baptist Church officated.
