Note*   Roy married Blanch Boone around 1913 at the age of Eighteen. She was the sister of George's wife Mabel. The couple owned a fruit store in Cleveland located at 84th and Madison, close to his families home. THey would later move to a larger store at 84th and Madison.

They moved to Florida and roy worked as a car mechanic and Blanche as a waitress in a hotel. After a few years they had scraped together enough money to buy a small orchard in the 1930's. They sold fruit from a roadside stand and eventually expanded the business which became Harvey's Groves orange orchard.. Roy and Blanche never had children, but because of the closeness between Roy and George, George Jr. was as close to them as a son could be. George Jr. started with the company as a young boy working his way up into management. Eventually he bought the company from Roy and Blanche and continued as it's owner until his death in 2000.

Roy and Blanche kept a home in Cleveland where they spent the summer months away from the searing heat and humidity of Florida. Roy loved to golf and was a very generous man.
