OBIT - GRAYBILL, TALMAGE ALBERT

GRAYBILL, Talmage Albert, born August 7, 1917, passed away Saturday morning, March 9, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia P. Graybill; his daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Ann and Dale Craighead; daughter, Janice M. Chittum; and daughter and son-in-law, Ginny L. Graybill and Larry Clinton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Randolph and Mildred Graybill, George and Ann Graybill; and sister-in-law, Prudy Graybill; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren with another expected in July and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his son, T.A. Graybill, Jr., five sisters, Evelyn Cox, Beatrice Hardie, Ruby Saul, Ruth Cunningham and Mildred Cunningham, and one brother, Bernard Graybill. Mr. Graybill entered the U.S. Army in October 1944, as a Private and achieved the rank of 1 s t Sergeant in the 7 t h Calvary, with tours of duty in the Philippines and Japan at the time of the signing of the Armistice. He received a Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Bronze Service Star and Asiatic Pacific Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in February 1946. He was employed at Wilson & Company - Fischer Foods for 46 years until his retirement in 1984. He was an avid bowler for 30 years and enjoyed gardening. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Oakey's North Chapel conducted by Pastor Harold Moyer and Pastor Lorraine Alston. Burial at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday from 2 till 9 p.m. at Oakey's North Chapel.
