Eva R. Brittsan

Eva Rebecca Brittsan, 91, of Medford, died Thursday (Oct. 16, 2003) at Hearthstone Nursing Facility. For many years prior to Hearthstone, she had lived at Barnett Woods in Medford.


Mrs. Brittsan was born Eva Rebecca Zier, on Jan. 23, 1912 in Odessa, WA to immigrant parents from Germany. On Jan. 1, 1934, in Medford, she married Granvil F. Brittsan, who preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1988.


She worked in the grocery business with her husband following WW II, beginning at the OK Market in Medford, and later at the former Brittsan's Market in Talent. They sold the Brittsan's Market and retired in 1972.


Mrs. Brittsan was active in the American Legion Auxiliary for many years.


Survivors include: two sons, Darrel Brittsan of Greensboro, N.C., and wife Nan, and Granvil F. Brittsan Jr. of Eugene and his wife Sherry; one brother-in-law, Ronald Brittsan and his wife Vonnie of San Jacinto, CA; six grand children; and five great-grandchildren. Eight brothers and one sister preceded her in death.


Memorial contributions may be made to a any Hospice or charity of your choice.


Friends may pay their respects at a Celebration of Life to be held beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, at Barnett Woods, 2979 Barnett Road, Medford. Interment will be at Veterans Administration National Cemetery, Eagle Point.
