Memorial services for Wanda Lucille Springer, 80, of North Bend, will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, Sept. 19, at the Hauser Community Church, 69411 Wildwood Drive, North Bend. Internment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Coos Bay.


She was born Aug. 24, 1923, to Henry Samuel and Minnie Bea (Fenters) Hondrick, in Dixonville. She died Sept. 13, 2003, in North Bend.


On July 29, 1940, she married William Fredrick Springer in Reno, Nev. They lived in Ashland for many years until 1957, when they moved to Charleston. They traveled extensively after William's retirement in 1980 from Weyerhaeuser. After his death in February 2000, she moved to Medford for two years and then returned to the North Bend area.


Mrs. Springer enjoyed spending her time with her family and friends and was very blessed to be surrounded by many friends throughout her life. She will be remembered for being a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed. She was a member of the Hauser Community Church.


She is survived by her granddaughters, Shannon Smith and husband, Shaun Smith of Terrebonne and Heather Springer of Bend; great-grandchildren, Keenan Springer and Jordane and Jackie Shaima, all of Bend; daughter-in-law, Sharon Springer-Johnson of Bend; sister-in-law, Julia Hackett and family; cousins, Ruth Nash, Shirley Gingell and Anita Lossett; and extended family, Jack and Diana Hampel and their family of Charleston.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three children, brother and sister.


The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, Oregon Division, 1122 N.W. Garden Valley Blvd., Roseburg, Ore. 97470.


Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson's Bay Area Mortuary, 267-4216.
