Note*   From Dorcas Beaver:

From a Karen Dulgnan, in 2008 I received several e-mails. After that I could not contact her at all and haven't be able to since that time. So this is what she said in part:

"The girl that lived with the Reed's was Blanche A. Shultz - a foster child. She was about the same age as Karen's great grandmother and lived with them for a long time. She also said that her g. grandmother Lois was very quiet and died when Karen was 8 years old. She said they talked about living in the plains of Kansaas when she met Wm. Reed when we was sent to the area to build Forts to protect against Indians. She was led to think he was an officer in the Union Army and fairly well to do. They could have moved around census taking time."

"Then in research, it is believed that Wm. Reed was married previously - accounting the difference in their age. His first wife was probably Mary M. (Mollie) Dubbs. - 3 Nov. 1841 - 4 Nov. 1876 and buried in Pine Grove Mills Cemetery. William's parents - David May 1795-15 May 1877 and buried at Old Cem. In Pine Grove Mills. wife: Elizabeth 14 June 1811 - 24 Sep. 1873 - buried the same place."2
