Lucy E. Yergin

Lucy E. Yergin, 95, formerly of Burbank, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at West View Manor in Wooster following a period of declining health.
She was born May 20, 1904, in Congress Twp., east of West Salem to U.J. "Nick" and Dora (Clinker) Neiswinter. Mrs. Yergin was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Burbank and United Methodist Women and the Ladies Aide. She had made her home in Burbank since 1925. She was a homemaker and was active serving her community and helping others.


She is survived by her daughter, Marjean (Fred) Clayton of Wooster; son, Max E. (Jerrie) Yergin of Lodi; a niece who she raised, Louise (Neil) Hagans of West Salem; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Schoonover of Ashland; and many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Yergin on March 24, 1975, who she married June 21, 1922; a grandson; brothers, James, Gabriel, George, and Eugene; and sisters, Fannie, Mabel, Myrtle, Gladys, and Nellie.


Service: 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Burbank. The Rev. Kristin McKinley will officiate.


Burial: Burbank Cemetery.


Visiting hours: 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Murray Funeral Home, 173 S. Main St., Creston.
