Dr. William C. Waters died of Bright's disease at his home in Zanesville Tuesday evening, Nov. 22, 1921, at the age of 77 years. He had been in failing health for the past three years.

Dr. Waters was the son of Robert Waters and was born near Otsego in the year 1844. At the age of 16 years he enlisted in the Civil War and served nearly 4 years in the union army. Some time after returning home he studied medicine and graduated from the Columbus medical college in 1882. He then commenced the practice of medicine in Otsego and not long afterward located in Adamsville where he remained for a number of years when he moved to Cardington, Ohio, from which place he moved to Zanesville in 1901.

After locating to Zanesville Dr. Waters became active in politics as well as in the medical profession and was elected to the city council and subsequently as police judge of the city.

In the year 1867, Dr. Waters was united in marriage to Celia A. Barnard to which union two children were born: Laura C. now the wife of Dr. J. G. Shirer, of Newark, and Harvey W. Waters, of Columbus, Ohio. His wife died in 1898. Some time after her death he married Jennie C. Green who survives him.

Dr. Waters was a charter member of the K. of P. lodge at Adamsville, and also became a member of the Masonic lodge at this place. He was a member of the M. E. church.

The remains were taken on Friday to Otsego where funeral services were conducted in the M. P. Church and interment made in the family burial lot in the church cemetery.
