Phillip S. Shirar , 72, Pioneer Merchant Dies - Funeral for Tuesday.


Phillip S. Shirar, 72, former city councilman and retired Muskogee hardware merchange, died at the Muskogee General Hospital shortly before noon Sunday following an illness of 3 months.



A native of Carroll Co, Indiana - he came to Muskogee in 1904 and was associated in the hardware business with A. Chapman Bartleson and W. P. Copeland



He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Ted Conway and three sisters - Mrs. Ed Taylor of San Marcos, Tx, Mrs. Lois Reed of Houston and Mrs. Harry Hutsel of Waco - two brothers, Frank of San Antonio and Perry of Houston and a niece, Alberta Magee of San Antonio. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lescher Funeral chapel - funeral at Greenhill Cemetery
