From the Navrestads(Vernon County Censor 11/1882) Thad Conkling had charge of the county farm for the next year and L.R. Decker, Senior, will move to town, his health being poor. He and his wife had conducted it for many years. Vernon County Censor: Mr and Mrs L. R. Decker and daughter moved to Seneca, Wisc. in 1882. Censor January 11, 1888: L.R. Decker, one of Viroqua's oldest settlers has returned from the west and is at the home of his son, Dr. Frank E. Decker of Seneca. Death listed in Viroqua Cemetary - Vir. | News/Obit* | 29 February 1888 | Death Notice, Lewis R. Decker, known to everybody as plain, honest, good hearted Deed, died at the home of his son Dr. Frank E. Decker in Seneca, Wisconsin, on Monday, February 6, 1888, at the age of fifty -seven years. The funeral took place at the home of his brother-in-law, John R. Casson on February 9. He was survived by his wife, two sons Frank E. of Seneca and L. R. of Cloquet, Minnesota and an unmarried daughter.(Minerva) (ed: John R. Casson was the husband of Lydia A. Tinker, sister to L.R.
