The minutes of the First Baptist Church of Philadelphia thus comment on her death: "July 3, 1'797, we have this day received the mournful intelligence that our beloved sister and Mother in Israel, Elizabeth Dungan was we trust translated to the Church Triumphant."

James Dungan's children were all by his first wife. His son Benjamin married Mary, Elizabeth (Howell‑Morgan) Dungan's daughter, by Rev. Abel Morgan.

May 29, 1740, James Dungan was baptized (27).

Dec. 18, 1749, he removed from Southampton to Lower Dublin Township, Philadelphia County, Pa.

Feb. 3, 1750, he was received as a member of the Lower Dublin (Pennypack) Baptist Church.

March 9, 1753, John and Esther Wells deeded to him 167 acres, and the old stone house thereon with its date stone is still standing (1916). After James Dungan's death, it was the home successively of his son Benjamin, the latter's son George Ingles Dungan, and George Ingles Dungan, Jr.

In 1780, James Dungan was one of the largest tax payers in Lower Dublin Township, his property being assessed at £7950. (24‑3rd Series, Vol. XV, p. 428).

All five of his sons were soldiers in the Revolutionary War, or ‑in the militia after the war.

Feb. 2, 1753, James and Rebecca Dungan conveyed to Josiah Matlack, of the Manor of Moreland, one hundred acres, which James Dungan had bought from Thomas Rush and Esther his wife, adjoining land owned by Jacob Johnson and Evan Thomas. (32 D. 7'7, p. 1).

Jan. 23, 1762, James Dungan was appointed by the Orphan's Court, guardian to the orphan child of John Ayres. (Docket Book 6, page 5).

The will of James Dungan, of Lower Dublin Township, Philadelphia County, Pa;, dated Feb. 4, 1782, pr. Feb. 26, 1782, at Philadelphia, mentions wife Elizabeth.
