executors having declined to serve by writing dated October 24, 1783, letters
c. t. a. were granted to their brother Jonathan. Sureties on his bond, Joshua

Elizabeth Dungan, 6, daughter of Thomas and Mary (Drake) Dungan, b. circa
1708. m. Dec. 24, 1732, (34) John Hellings, son of Nicholas and Ruth. She
was baptised with her husband October 1, 1741 (27). John
Hellings is mentioned in the will of Sarah (Dungan-Carrell) Fitroy as
"cousin" (i.e. Nephew), and was appointed one of her executors. Some
account of the Hellings family is given under 28, George Dungan, who married a
sister of John Hellings. 23.
Joseph Dungan, 6, son of Thomas and Mary (Drake) Dungan, b. Jan. 30, 1710, d.
August 25, 1'785, aged 75 years, 6 mos. 25 days. m. circa 1737, Mary Ohl, b.
Feb. 25, 1710, d. April 25, 1788, aged 78 yrs. 2 mos. His tombstone at
Southampton Baptist Church graveyard, has the following inscription "Joseph
Dungan (grandson of Rev. Thomas Dungan who came from Rhode Island in 1684, and
was buried at Cold Spring 1688), died August 25, 1785, aged 75 yrs. 6 mos. and
25 days. Also Mary Dungan relict of Joseph, died April 25, 1788, aged 78 yrs.
2 mos." The
will of Joseph Dungan, of Warwick, Bucks County, Pa., dated June 16,1783, pr.
Sept. 15, 1785, mentions sons: Thomas and Joshua; daughters: Sarah, wife of
Benjamin Courson, and Hannah, wife of Benjamin Marple. Executor:
son Joshua. Witnesses:
Mary and Herman Yerkes and Joseph Hart. Issue:

Jonathan Dungan, 6, son of Thomas and Mary (Drake) Dungan, b. circa 1712, d.
1741 intestate. m. 1. circa 1733, Mercy Wells, b. Nov. 1'713, d. Sept. 17,
1735, aged 21 yre. 10 mos., daughter of Samuel and Julian (Taylor) Wells.
(from her tombstone at Pennypack). m. 2. Sept. 2, 1738, (34) Elizabeth
Bavington, b.--. Probably a sister of Jonathan Bavington, b. 1700, d. May 13,
1'788, who was buried in Trinity Oxford Church grounds. She rn. 2. May 31,
1742, (40) William Reed. Thomas Dungan mentions in his will dated Feb. 9, 1758,
three grandsons: Samuel, Jacob and Jonathan, sons of his son Jonathan,
deceased.
Sept.
4, 1741, letters of Adm. on the estate of Jonathan Dungan were greeted to his
widow Elizabeth; Bondsman: Jonathan Bavington. The same year, Samuel Wells
petitioned the Court for a guardian for Samuel Dungan and the Court appointed
Bartholomew Longstreth and John Wells (A 1, p. 87-60). "March 16, 1742/3, Citations against William Road
(sic) and Elizabeth Road, Adm'x.
of Jonathan Dungan, at ye instance of Thomas Dungan, Ye father of the
intestate, for appointment of guardian for children." Issue

1782, m. 1, April 19, 1737, (34) Rebecca Wells, d. Oct. 17, 1779. (Bible)
daughter of Samuel and Julian (Taylor) Wells*, of Lower Dublin Township. m. 2.
circa 1780, Elizabeth (Howell) Morgan, b. Feb. 12, 1728, d. July 3, 1797,
daughter of Reynold and Mary (George) Howell, of the Welsh Baptist Meeting of
Pencader Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware, and widow of Rev. Abel Morgan,
whom she married June 4, 1746. (36). Her daughter Elizabeth Morgan
