Kinsey Burgan was born 12 Jan 1834 in Iva, Anderson County, South Carolina to Nelson and Permilia Burgan. His mother's maiden name is unknown to me at this time.
By 1859 Kinsey had moved to Lumpkin County, Georgia where he married Mary Elizabeth HALLUM. In 1862 Kinsey enlisted as a Confederate in the Civil War. After the war he appears on the 1870 U.S.Census in Gilmer County, GA with his wife, Mary and six children. In 1880 they appear in Franklin County, Arkansas. In 1900 they are in Morgan, Bosque County, Texas where they also appear in 1910. Mary died in 1911. I don't know what took Kinsey and his family to different parts of GA, AR or TX, however at the time that they were in Bosque County, TX sheep farming was profitable. Since Kinsey was a farmer, it is possible that this is what he did while living there. Both Kinsey and Mary Elizabeth are buried at Morgan Cemetery, Morgan, Bosque County, TX.
