Deed, Abraham, Ann, Elisher, and Harriet Coffin to Thaddeus Salisbury, Deerfield, Oneida, New York, 3 Mar 1863
This indenture made this third day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand and Eight hundred and sixty-three between Abraham Coffeen and Ann his wife, Elisher Coffin and Harriet his wife of the town of Deerfield County of Oneida and State of New York of the first part, and Thaddeus Salisbury of the town aforesaid of the second part, Witnesseth:
That the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Eight thousand and seven hundred and fifty dollars to them duly paid have sold and by these presents do grant and convey to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate in the town of Deerfield aforesaid and Newport, County of Herkimer, state aforesaid in Gages and Waltons Patent lots number 60 and 30.
Beginning at a stake and stone standing in the line between said lots and Patents at the most north easterly corner of the land of Daniel Bower, thence north westerly along the land of said Bower and also along the northerly bounds of lands owned by Jesse and Almon Brayton to the land of William Schermerhorn, thence northeasterly along the land of said Schermerhornto the center of the highway, thence easterly along the centre of the highway to the southerly corner of a small piece of land in possession of George Storkett, thence northerly along the easterly line of said Storkett lot to the south bank of the West Canada Creek thence south easterly along the bank of said creek with its winds and turns down the stream to lands owned by Ezra May, thence south westerly along the north westerly bound of said Ezra May to the corner of a very small piece of land formerly sold by said Abraham Coffeen to Morena May, thence south westerly along said small piece of land a few rods to a northerly line of the farm of said Morena May being his northly line, to the land of Daniel Bowen, thence along north easterly along said Bowen's line and the line between said Patents to the place of beginning.
Estimated to contain about one hundred and eighty 1/8 acres of land be the same more or less, the above premises are hereby conveyed subject to a mortgage given by the said parties of the first part to Rensellaer Brayton bearing date the 8th day of January A.D. 1859 which mortgage the said Salisbury is to assume the full payment thereof as a consideration in part aforesaid. In sixth line from top this page the words Amason House erased and Daniel Bowen interlined, with the appurtenances and all the Esatate title and interest therein of the said party of the first part and the said Abraham Coffin and Elisher Coffin of the parties of the first part do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that the premises thus conveyed in the quiet and peacable possession of the said party of the sacond part his heairs and assigns will forever warrant and defend against any person whomsoever lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof.
In witness whereof the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals, In 6th line from top 2nd page the words Daniel Bowen interlined also in the 9th and 10th line same page the words Seventy five erased and the words eighty and 1/8 Interlined done before signing.
