The following is a copy of the story printed in the Winkler County News on Thursday Sept. 19, 1968. We didn't have a fenced in backyard and dad gave the turtle to a friend of his, A.C. Morton, to keep in his backyard that was fenced in. Later someone accidentally left the back gate open and this infamous turtle got out. Who knows...maybe some day this turtle will reappear.
