Muskegon News Chronicle, Muskegon, MI Wednesday, June 5, 1912

Miss Alice A. Cook   Miss Alice A. Cook, 6 Nolan street, died last night about 11 o’clock  at Hackley hospital after an illness of two weeks, at the age of 62.  Miss Cook was born  in Janesville, Wis. March 4, 1850 after living for some time in New York state moving to  Muskegon about thirty-two years ago.  She leaves three cousins, all living in Muskegon.   Mrs. J. M. Rowe, and Ralph and Frank VanRiper.

Muskegon Chronicle July 30,1957 COOK,Asa L.62.Dies

CMC Inspector,Veteran  Asa L.Cook,3137 Waalkes street,Muskegon Heights, an  inspector at Continental Motors Corporation and a World War I veteran,died at  Hackley  Hospital yesterday afternoon following a two-week illness.He was 62. Born April 9,1895  at Big Rapids, Mr.Cook came to Muskegon from there in 1925. He was married to the  former Marie Poland at South Bend,Ind. Mr. Cook was an inspector at Continental for  the past 10 years until his illness. Besides his wife,he is survived by one son,Robert A.  Cook of Muskegon; two daughters,Gloria M. and Sharon A. Cook,both at home; two  brothers,Wesley Cook of Big Rapids and Charles Cook of Cadillac;four sisters,Mrs. Earl  Wood of Muskegon; Mrs. Edgar E. Obert,Mrs.Maude Bender and Mrs. Clara Budd,all of Big Rapids and one grandchild.

The Muskegon Chronicle – Saturday August 26, 1922 page 11 – The funeral of Earl J. Cook, 46 Mason avenue, was held at 3:30 o’clock this afternoon, at the Clock Funeral Home.  Interment was made in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Cook, 51, dies at Home   Mrs. Marie Cook, of 3127 Waalkes street, Muskegon Heights, died at her home after a lingering  illness. She was 51 years old. Born in Muskegon on May 4,1906, she was married to Asa Cook in South Bend, Ind. in May,  1929. Mr. Cook died July 29, 1957. Survivors are one son, Robert A. Cook, Muskegon; two daughters, Miss Gloria M. Cook  and Miss Sharon A. Cook, both at home; three brothers, Chester Poland, Philadelphia; William Poland, Pennsylvania, and Lester  Poland, Muskegon; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Pepley ,Muskegon Heights; Mrs. Alice Gustafson, Fruitport, and Mrs. Esther  Bacock, Muskegon, and one grandchild.

Cook,born August 30,1989,died this past Friday,September 1 at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak,MI.SURVIVORS:Parents,Dr. Robert A. and Debra S. Cook of Farmington Hills;Grandparents,Mr.and Mrs. Robert(Helen)Cook of Fruitport & Mrs.Patricia Cornell of Grand Rapids MI. Wesley W. Cook, 84, rural Big Rapids,died Monday evening in Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. He was born Nov.24,1891 in Big Rapids and has been a life long resident of the area.He was a self employed carpenter.He also was an employee of Continental Motors. He was a veteran of World War I,and a member of the Big Rapids DAV.Surviving are four sisters,Mrs.Maude Bender of Big Rapids,Mrs. Clara Budd of Grand Rapids,Mrs.Edgar (Blanche) Obert of Big Rapids,and Mrs.Gladys Wood of Muskegon;several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev.William A. Miller officiating.Burial will be in Ladner Cemetery in Rogers Heights.Friends may call until the tile of service.
