Mrs. Charles Carson, Of Duck Lake, Dies - Mrs. Charles Carson, 74 years old, 1681 Duck Lake road, a Muskegon county resident for the past 16 years, died Friday at her home after a short illness.  Born July 6, 1871, in Quincy, Ill., she moved to Fruitland township in 1930.  Formerly Miss Bessie Champey, she was married Oct. 21, 1890, to Charles Carson in Chicago.  She was a member of the Lutheran church of Quincy.  She leaves her husband; two sons, Fred and Patrick, both of Muskegon; and one sister, Mrs. Anna Degelmann of Chicago.

CARSON—Mrs. Charles Carson of Fruitland township, died Friday afternoon at her home, age 74.  Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 from the Clock Chapel with the Rev. Jacob Huizenga officiating.  Interment in Fruitland cemetery.  Friends may call at the Clock Funeral Home.

Charles Carson Dies at Home - Charles A. Carson, 79 years old, R. R. 7, Muskegon, Fruitland township, a resident here 17 years, died yesterday in Jones Convalescent home after a week’s illness.  Mr. Carson came here in 1932 from Chicago where he had been employed by Marshall Field and company.  Born at Stockholm, Sweden, Feb. 5, 1870, he came to the United States in 1886, settling in Chicago.  He was married there to Miss Bessie Champey on Oct. 21, 1890.  He was a member of a Swedish Lutheran church, Chicago.  He leaves two sons, Fred of Muskegon county, and Patrick of Muskegon.  His wife died in February, 1947.

Charles A. Carson, 79 years [old,] a resident of Fruitland towns[hip,] died Monday at the Jones C[on]valescent home after an ill[ness] of one week.  Mr. Carson was born in St[ock]holm, Sweden, Feb. 5, 1870, [and] came to United States in 1[886,] settling in Chicago.  He was [mar]ried there to Miss Bessie Ch[am]pey on Oct. 21, 1890.  They mo[ved] to Fruitland in 1932 and had l[ived] here since.  Mrs. Carson die[d in] February, 1947.  Mr. Carson [was] a member of a Swedish Luth[eran] church in Chicago.  He is survived by two s[ons,] Fred of Fruitland and Patric[k of] Muskegon.  Funeral services will be [held] this afternoon at 1 o’clock at [the] Clock chapel, Muskegon, [with] Elder A. CARSON, MR. FRED, (Husband of Pauline), 4408 W. McMillan Rd.  Mr. Carson, age 83, died Monday at Brookhaven Medical Care Facility.  He was born in Chicago, Ill. and came to Muskegon in 1931.  For many years he was employed at Lyons Machine & Tool Company as a Watchman, retiring in 1964.  He married the former Pauline Miel Johnson in 1937.  SURVIVORS:  Wife, Pauline, 4 sons, Patrick, Paul, Harvey and Charles all of Muskegon, 1 daughter, Mrs. Merle (Bessie) Bernhardt of Whitehall, 2 step-sons, Leo Johnson of Montague and Melvin Johnson of Muskegon, 3 step-daughters, Donna Rose of Muskegon, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Bernhardt of Whitehall and Mrs. Ferdell (Ruth) McClellan of Rothbury, 39 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  SERVICE:  The service will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock from the Clock Chapel with the Rev. Mark Frykholm officiating.  Interment will be in Fruitland Cemetery.  VISITATION:  Friends may call at the funeral home where they may meet the family this evening from 7 to 9 o’clock and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 o’clock on Wednesday.  —Clock

Fruitland Township   Mrs. Carson, age 49, died July 14, 1994.  Born March 11, 1945,  in Rigley, TN, she had lived in the area since 1952.  In 1984, the former Jane Quinton  married Harvey Carson and had been a molder at Lakeshore Diversified Products.  One  brother, John Quinton, preceded her in death.  FAMILY  Her husband, Harvey; 1 son,  Reginald of Rothbury; 2 daughters, Pamela (David) Potter of Rothbury and Lisa Allen of  North Muskegon; 3 step-sons, James Allen & Charles (Kathy) Carson both of Muskegon  and Rodney Carson of Scottville; 1 step-daughter, Cheryl Burnell of Fruitport; 10  grandchildren; 1 sister, Nancy (Fred) Boyden of Muskegon; 3 brothers, Robert (Betty)  Quinton, Ernest (Janice) Griswold and Rueben Quinton, all of North Muskegon.  SERVICE  Monday, July 18, 1994, at 11 AM, from Clock Chapel-Whitehall with the Rev.  Donald W. LeMaire officiating.  Interment will be made in Fruitland Township Cemetery.  VISITING HOURS  Sunday, 1-5 PM, in Whitehall.  MEMORIAL: Grave Marker Fund.  — Clock – White Lake

Mrs. Rosie Mae Carson, age 83, departed this life on Thurs., Sept. 13, 2001.  Sister Carson confessed Christ at an early age.  She attended Morningstar Baptist Church serving on the Usher Board for over 40 years.  Rosie married Sherman Carson, Sr., who preceded her in death.  To this union 3 children were born, Sherman (Alice) Carson Jr., Rosiena Johnson & Andrew (Thelma) Carson all of the Muskegon Heights; 5 sisters, Elnora (Vernon) Carson, Mary Lee Howard of Muskegon Heights, Janie Jackson of Flint, MI, Irene Branch of Saginaw, MI; 1 brother, Andrew (Annie Mae) Cooper of Jackson MS; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends & church family; 1 sister-in-law, Bennie Cooper, Rosie was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mamie Turner & Mary Ross; 1 brother, Joe Cooper; 1 grandson.  Services will be held Tues. 1pm at Morningstar Baptist Church. Rev. James Whiteside officiating.  Visitation begins Mon. 10am to 9pm. Interment:  Mona View

CARSON, MRS. VIDA E., Whitehall.  Mrs. Vida E. Carson, age 63, passed away Saturday, June 26, 1999 at home.  She was born October 15, 1935 in Muskegon.  She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Charles J. Carson; her 4 children, Richard (Ellen) Felber, Cheryl Hite, Carrol (Ken) Hiltz and Sandy (Greg) Simmons; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at The Fruitland Evangelical Covenant Church, 4283 N.
