Deny Entering Tavern   Pleas of innocent were entered in circuit court Monday for  Arthur Carrier, 31 years old, Grant R.R. 1; Richard Carroll, 31 years old, Fremont, R.  R. 4; and Charles Dagen, 29 years old, Holton, R. R. 1; charged with breaking and  entering the Maple tavern early Sunday.  Judge Joseph F. Sanford fixed bond at $2,000  each.

Died  Carrier-At Bluffton, Saturday morning May 19, Mrs. Venis Carrier age 39  years. The funeral will take place from the French Catholic  Church, Monday  morning at 9:30.

Obituary of Venis Carrier, Muskegon Chronicle, 1 Feb 1917, page 13, column 3

Venis Carner (correct information, Carrier) Venis Carner, aged 77, died at his home, 478 ˝ Grand avenue, after a three  months illness  last evening.  Born in Quebec, Can., Mr. Carner came to this city over 40 years ago, where  he has lived ever since. He leaves besides his  wife, four children, William Carner of Montreal, Can., Mrs. Henry Senecal of Muskegon, Mrs. Georgia Geyer  and Mrs. William Lozan, both  of Montreal, Con. Eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.  The funeral service will be held at 9 o’clock, Saturday  morning, at the St. Jean Baptist church. Rev. Fr. Boulin will officate and the burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery.
