CARLSTON, MR. CARL B., Whitehall.  Mr. Carlson, age 79, died Dec. 15, 1984, at his home.  He was born Aug. 11, 1905, in Muskegon, and has lived most all his life in the local area, except for 20 years in Walkerville.  Employed as a machinist at Muskegon Screw Works until retirement, he married the former Eva Erickson, and was a member of Giles Road Baptist Church.  SURVIVORS:  Wife, Eva; 2 sons, Oscar and wife Mickie of Holton & Rudy and wife Patricia of No. Muskegon; 2 daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Doris) Walters of Muskegon & Mrs. James (Nancy) Corliss of Shelby; 7 grand children & 5 great-grand sons; 1 brother, Clarence E. of Muskegon.  SERVICE:  Monday, Dec. 17, 1984, at 1:00 P.M., from Giles Road Baptist Church, with The Rev. Roy Williamson officiating.  Interment will be made in Fruitland Twp. Cemetery.  VISITATION:  Today, Sunday, from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Whitehall.  MEMORIAL: Mission Fund of Giles Road Baptist Church.  —Clock White Lake

Mrs. E. E. Carlston, Long Ill, Expires.  Mrs. Edward E. Carlston, 63 years old, 28 E. Muskegon avenue, died Monday in Hackley hospital after an illness of six weeks.  Born in Fruitland township on April 13, 1881, her name was Hulda Marie Wickstrom prior to her marriage on Nov. 24, 1908 to Edward Emanuel Carlston in Fruitland township.  They located in Muskegon and had been here since.  Surviving are her husband; three sons, Elwood E. Carlston, Muskegon; Lt. LaVerne E., in the Army Air force at Ardmore, Okla., and Sgt. Harvey L., in England; two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Beckman and Mrs. Evadne Carlston, Chicago; one brother, Adolph Wickstrom, Fruitland, and four grandchildren.

CARLSTON – The memorial service for Mrs. Edward Emanuel Carlston of 28 E. Muskegon Ave., will begin at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon at Balbirnie’s, the Rev. Mr. Reeves officiating and the interment will be in Fruitland cemetery.  Those of the friends wishing to view the remains may do so at Balbirnie’s, beginning Tuesday evening.

Signe Hogan Casler.  Signe I. Hogan Casler, 87, of Baldwin, formerly of the Whitehall area, died Friday, Aug. 14, 1992 at Shore Haven Nursing Home in Grand Haven.  Mrs. Casler was born Dec. 17, 1904 in Windom, Minn.  She was a graduate of Mankato College in Mankato, Minn.  She married William Hogan, and later married Cleo “Red” Casler.  She was employed as a nursing home assistant.  She was a charter member of Lake Community Bible Church in Baldwin and was a former member of Fruitland Baptist Church of Whitehall.  She is survived by her daughter, Delores (Patrick) Dillinger, Grand Haven; a son, John (Eileen) Hogan, Somerset, Calif.; grandchildren Kurt (Gail) Dillinger, Grand Rapids; Koleen (Jim) Volovlek, Grand Haven; Khristopher (Laurie) Dillinger, Rothbury; Kara (Steve) Richardson, Grand Haven; Sean Hogan, Somerset, Calif.; William Hogan, Somerset, Calif.; and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by both her husbands, William Hogan and Cleo “Red” Casler.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by Pederson Funeral Home Inc., of Rockford.

CASLER, MRS. SIGNE I., HOGAN, Baldwin (Formerly of Whitehall).  The Funeral Service for Mrs. Signe I. Hogan, age 88, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Fruitland Baptist Church with Pastor Donald LeMaire officiating.  Friends may meet the family from noon until the time of service on Tuesday at the Church.  Pederson Funeral Home  Rockford, MI

E. E. Carlston, Life Resident, Dies at Age 76.  Edward Emmanuel Carlston, a life-long resident of Muskegon County, died today after a short illness.  He was 76 years old and made his home at 164 W. Muskegon Avenue.  Mr. Carlston was born Jan. 21, 1880, in Fruitland Township, where he attended school.  He married the former Miss Hulda W. Wickstrom who died in 1944.  Mr. Carlston was employed at Brunswick-Balke-Collender Company until his retirement in 1932.  He leaves three sons, Elwood and Vern of Muskegon and Harvey of North Muskegon; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, William Carlston of Kokomo, Ind., and August Carlston of Chicago.

 CARLSTON, MR. EDWARD EMMANUEL, 164 W. Muskegon Avenue.  The memorial service for Mr. Edward Emmanuel Carlston will begin at 10:30 o’clock Friday morning at the Balbirnie-Apostle Chapel, Rev. CARLSTON, MR. LAVERN E., 1316 Marcoux.  Mr. Carlston, age 64, died Monday evening.  A life resident of Muskegon, he had been a salesman at Blais Lincoln Mercury, Inc.  He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the Muskegon Elks No. 274 and was an Army veteran.  SURVIVORS:  4 sons, William, Doug, & Mark all of Muskegon, and Gary of AZ; 1 grandson, Erron of AZ; 1 brother, Elwood Carlston of Muskegon.  SERVICE:  Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at the Clock Chapel with Dr. Lynn A.
