Dolores Aileen Murrow, daughter of the late Bertsell and Esther Fern (Sherrell) Riggs, was born June 4, 1944, on the famly farm southwest of Dacoma, Oklahoma, and passed away November 17, 1999, at Share Medical Center in Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 77 years, 5 months, and 13 days.
Dolores, or "Doodle," as she was affectionately known, graduated from Dacoma High School with the class of 1940 and attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University. On February 15, 1942, she was united in marriage to Wendell Dean Murrow in Dacoma, Oklahoma, at his parents' home. They were the parents of two sons, Randall (Randy) and Rodney.
Dolores was a member of the Church of God. She was very artistic and loved to do arts and crafts. Perhaps her favorite hobby was making pine cone wreaths. She also loved to collect antiques and had a large collection of hurricane lamps.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Randy; her stepfather, Sam Riggs; one nephew, Rex Rosebery; her brothers-in-law, Loren Rosebery and Bob Nida; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mildred and A. L. "Lute" Murrow.
Dolores is survived by her husband, W. Dean Murrow, of Alva; one son, Rodney Murrow and his wife, Carolyn, of Freedom, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Melanie Fuson and her husband, Dennis, of Irving, Texas, Randall Dean Murrow of Norman, Oklahoma, and Cathy Richardson and her husband, Mike, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; one sister, Dorothy Rosebery, of Borger, Texas; four nephews, Jim and Debbie Rosebery and family of Boise City, Oklahoma, Mike and Chariss Rosebery and family of Austin, Texas, Rob and Patricia Nida and family of Alva, and Steve Nida and family of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her sister-in-law, Jean Nida, of Alva; her cousin and best friends, Max and Alberta Bliss of Carmen, Oklahoma; her aunt, Oneita Riggs of Alva, Oklahoma; other cousins, relatives, and many friends.
