Hi, Jay;
These photos are labelled "Ina" (if you try to copy them, the label will say "Ina2x, Ina 3x, etc.) because I sent them to my cousin by that name. She lives in Amarillo and has worked on our family history for years and years. The first big "batch" of Riggs family history I got came from her. She is still quite interested in learning as much as she can about the family. I have sent copies to her and to my mother's sister, hoping that either of them can help me with positive identification.
So here they are. My mother could have answered all these questions had I bothered to inquire. In fact, at some point, she and I have looked at all these and she's told me who they are -- but I didn't write it down and neither did she; that's been 25 years ago or more. She died in November and so now it's a scramble to try and find someone who can provide the answers.
Photo 1 - Ina2 - Three kids named Harve, Jessie, and Albert. Any idea who they are?
Photo 2 - I think these two men are John and Will Proffitt, but which is which?
Photo 3 - I think this is John Mark Proffitt...
Photo 4 - marked in two or three different hands - "Sarah Riggs Brother" and "full" (as in full brother?) and "Lum" (a nickname?)...do you know who Lum Proffitt was?
Photo 5 - family portrait of Charles and Sarah Riggs family (I'm pretty sure that I can find out the right names to connect to the children from another of my Mom's cousins...and will inform you as soon as I have the info at hand).
Photo 6 - family portrait of either John or Will Proffitt and family -- did one of them have twins? I'm pretty sure this man is the same as one in the earlier photo of the twins.
Photo 7 - bearded man and his wife. I have no clue as to either person's identity. I'm fairly sure these are Riggs or Proffitt photos, as they were all done in one "batch" when I made the copies years ago -- and my mother provided the originals (which are still in the family--somewhere!).
Photo 8 - another one I'm clueless about. Two bearded men...one may be the same person as in the photo above. Do you have any idea?
That does it, Jay. . . for now, at least. Let me know if you have any definite answers on these. The photos are scans only, no retouching at all...I hope to be able to get some photos ready for photo-quality printing. Let me know if you're interested in any...or if you have any to share.
