Popeye the Sailor said on many occasions, "I am what I am and that's all what I am." Genealogy -- family history -- getting back to my roots -- learning of my heritage -- to me is the on-going process of finding out something of what I am and of who I am (and doing the best I can to both preserve the information and distribute it freely).

I began this project in 1971 when I was living in Norman, OK, attending graduate school at the University of Oklahoma. I gleaned what information I could from my parents and my grandparents; these individuals deserve special mention, however --

HERE are three interesting biographies of the family of Edwin and Addie (Riggs) Taylor:

Special thanks to Barbara Robertson for sharing much of her information on the Taylor family story.

CLICK HERE for an interesting report by Dalton W. Riggs on the occasion of the Golden Anniversary of Northwestern Normal School in Alva, OK in 1947 -- Uncle Dalt graduated with the class of 1902. Included on this page is a letter from Bird Watrus to J. W. Monfort, two of the original "team" who corroborated to assure the founding of Northwestern in Alva.

NOTE: I've chosen to protect the information on my own children and grandchildren, given the security issues that have developed in recent years.

NOTE: Due to excessive 'spam' email messages, my email address is unavailable; please leave a message in the guestbook (below).

Like any evolving web page, this is a work under constant construction...it will never be completed!

Instructions:

  • Standard "Ahnentafel" genealogical numbering is used throughout this collection (with minor adaptations for these pages).
  • I am subject no. 1; male parents are double the number of their child; female parents are double-plus-one (my dad is 2, mom is 3; her father is 6, her mother is 7; etc., etc.); siblings are identified by letters (1a, 1b, etc.)
  • Undelined/highlighted words are links to separate web pages for those persons; just click on the link and you'll be taken to that page.
  • The index labeled "Home - Pedigree Chart - Surnames" is located at the bottom of each page and is a quick way to navigate between pages.
  • found in the list of children on a family page indicates the child that is my direct ancestor.
  • CLICK HERE to go to page 1 - me.
  • CLICK HERE to go to the Pedigree Chart (it's listed in numerical order rather than designed as a traditional family tree chart).
  • CLICK HERE to go to Surnames.
