In 1904 Anne Langdon moved from Tasmania Australia, to the North Island of New Zealand, her grand-father Captain William Langdon had previously first arrived in Tasmania in 1821, while her other progenitors, the Brocks and Millers had arrived there sometime before 1847.In Masterton, she married Frank Standish of New Plymouth whose grandparents were early settlers of the Taranaki District. The Standish family had settled there in 1843, whereas the Brown family arrived in 1859. The newly-weds were themselves, to also settle and raise their children in Taranaki, on a farm at Tarata.
Their son Arthur Standish while working in the vicinity of Wairoa in Hawkes Bay, was to meet and later marry Florence Helena Taylor. Miss Taylor's father had arrived in New Zealand some time between 1877 - 1884 to eventually settle on a farm he named "Tangitere" in the Mangaone Valley of Hawkes Bay. Her mother was Irish, and had come to NZ in 1889, to join her parents and siblings who had emigrated previously in 1875.
