The signature of Joseph Murgittroyd is from a microfilm at the Northeast branch of the National Archives in New York City. 

The Murgittroyd Clay Pot photograph was provided by Kathy Stewart Chapman.  The name Murgittroyd is difficult to make out in the photo but it is prominently printed across the front of the pot.
