Admitted to a Cairo Hospital for mumps, refused a promotion for Sergeant in 1917. Earnest was 5 feet 5 inches, 152 lbs, chest 33 1/2-37 inches, dark complexion, eyes light brown, hair dark brown, distinctive marks moles on chest, shoulder. Returned to Australia ‘Kildonian Castle’ 21 Mar 1919.
