  • This page is just a start to finding the birth family of Mary Scott.
  • So far the only reference is the IGI.
  • The IGI states that the Elham parish register lists Mary as being the dau of Thomas & Mary, but all Thomas's other children were the children of Thomas & Ann. Was an error made in the registers?
  • It is unlikely Mary was related to the well known Scott family in Smeeth as she was not literate and her occupation was launderess.
  • It is quite possible Mary had sisters married in Folkestone and living in the Cheriton, Newington & Hythe areas.
