    THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me ELIZABETH WELLARD of Margate in the County of Kent Spinster

    I Give and Bequeath unto Elizabeth Clark Widow of the late Mr William Clark of Minster in the Isle of Thanet the sum of Ten Pounds (inserted in the margin of the document at this point are the words
    “I also give unto Martha Wellard Widow of Stephen Wellard of Minster in the Isle of Thanet the sum of Ten Pounds”)
    I Also Give unto Stephen Wellard Robert Wellard and William Wellard sons of the above Martha Wellard the sum of fifteen Pounds each
    I Also Give unto Mary Wellard Elizabeth Longley and Sarah Wellard daughters of the aforesaid Martha Wellard the sum of Fifteen Pounds each
    Also I Give unto Lewis Wellard of Minster in the Isle of Thanet the sum of Fifteen Pounds
    Also I Give unto Mary Wellard sister of the aforesaid Lewis Wellard the sum of fifteen Pounds
    Also I Give unto Mary Clark and Jane Clark of Effingham Place, Ramsgate in the County of Kent the sum of Fifteen Pounds each
    Also I Give unto Francis Thomas Howeof Margate in the County of Kent the sum of Ten Pounds
    Also I Give unto John Croaker Howe of Margate aforesaid the sum of Ten Pounds and also my watch
    Also I Give unto Charles Henry Howe of Margate aforesaid the sum of Fifteen Pounds and Four Pounds
    Also I Give unto George Howe of Margate aforesaid the sum of Ten Pounds
    I Also Direct my linen and wearing apparel may be divided by the aforesaid Mary Clark and Jane Clark as they shall think proper
    The Residue and Remainder of my estate being personal, after all my just debts funeral and all other expenses are paid which may not have been given and disposed of I Give and Bequeath the same to the aforesaid Mary Clark and Jane Clark to be divided as they may think just and proper And I do hereby constitute and appoint the aforesaid Mary Clark and Jane Clark of Ramsgate my Executrixes of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time made

    In Witness whereof I set my hand and seal this Tenth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Thirty-eight

    In the Prerogative Court of Canterbury In the Goods of Elizabeth Wellard spinster deceased APPEARED PERSONALLY Richard Tomson of No 7 Effingham Place Ramsgate in the County of Kent Esq. And made oath that he is one of the subscribed witnesses of the execution of the last will and Testament of Elizabeth Wellard late of Margate in the County of Kent Spinster bearing date the Tenth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Thirty-eight and now hereunto annexed and he further made oath that on the said Tenth day of April in the said year One thousand Eight hundred and Thirty-eight the said Testatrix only executed her said Will by making her mark or cross at the foot or end thereof as the same now appears thereon in the presence of this Deponent and of Dorothy Cooperthe other witness to the said Will both of whom were present at the same time and that he this Deponent and the said Dorothy Cooper thereupon attested and subscribed the said Will in the presence of the Testatrix and of each other
    RICHARD TOMSOM On the 4th day of May 1841 the said Richard Tomson was duly sworn to the truth of the aforesaid Affidavit by virtue of the canon hereto annexed Before Me R Harvey Commissioner

    PROVED at London the 13th May 1841 before the Worshipful William Calverley Curtis Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the oath of Mary Hart Spinster the niece one of the executrixes to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn duly to administer Power reserved to making the like Grant to Jane Clark Spinster the niece also the other Executrix when she shall apply for the same.
