John Jefferson Sharp John was the second child of Lafayette and Caroline Sharp. He was born on October 20, 1859 at Waverly, Tallapoosa County, Alabama. John lived for a time with his uncle, John Clark in the Steele community. John left his home in Leake County on September 1, 1884 and moved to Kauffman County, Texas. He never returned to Mississippi. |
In Texas, John married Rutha Clark on September 2, 1885. After their marriage, John and Rutha lived in Forney, Texas for a while. They then moved to Palo Pinto County TX and remained there until 1909. At that time they moved to Lubbock, where they lived until John's death in July 1947.
