First Posey Co Court was held in Absalom Duckworth house in 1815. The house is about five miles North of Mt Vernon, on the 20th day of March 1815, over which Isaac Blackford, with Thomas E Casselberry and Dann Lynn, associates, presided. The first panel of grand jurors was composed of Nathaniel Munsey, William Wagnon, James Robertson, Wilson Butler, Alexander Mills, John Stapleton, Adam Albright, John Aldredge, Samuel Aldredge, James Black, Seth Hargrave, Ezekiel Jones, John B Stephenson, David Thomas, John Crunk, Mathew Adams, Peter Wilkeson, William Boid and William Barton, the last three named failed to appear but had satisfactory reasons., Absalom and Martha Peale lived at Black, Posey County, Indiana, USA.4
