The family story says Sarah was killed by a falling tree during a lightning
storm. Birth record for Charles Britton says his mother was born in New
York. Christopher Britton's CW Pension records give Sarah's place of death
as Home Twp. The birthdate on the Whipple Cemetery Tombstone cannot be
correct. Christopher clearly states in the CW Pension census that he was
married in 1858 which makes Sarah only 9 years old if born in 1849. There is
a death record that if is indeed this Sarah, puts her birth in 1842.
