In a 1898 Penson circular, Lydia is not mentioned. However the question on
that circular is "Do you have any children living?" In the 1916 pension
report, the request is, "State the names and dates of all your children,
living or dead." It is here Lydia's name is given. I infer that
Lydia died before 1898, so was not listed by Benson on the 1898 circular.
