"...at the age of 42 years, with his family and accompanied by his brothers
Abraham and John emigrated west of the mountains, in the year 1808, and
located on a farm near Masontown, in Fayette county, Pennsylvania." In
Jacob's will, written Jan. 4, 1815, the name is spelled "NueComent". Before
moving from York Co., PA to Fayette Co., PA; Jacob was for a number of years
a miller. He aided in organizing the 1st Mennonite church in the Masontown.
