Came to Hillsdale County, Michigan in 1855. Settled in Ransom Twp. A 1857
Land Map of Hllsdale Co. has a "L. Britton" owning the farm at the southeast
corner of what today (1999) is M-99 and Burt Rd. in Ransom Twp. This same
farm was latter owned by Lucius's son, William B. Britton, (1872 Hillsdale Co.
Atlas), and then William's son, Barry Britton (1916 Hillsdale Co. Atlas).
