In the Name of God Amen I John Webb of the City of Rochester in the County of Kent Plumber and Glazier being in good health of Body and of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding (praised be God) for the avoiding disputes and controversies after my decease make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)
First and most principally I surrender up my poor immortal soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping to be saved by and through the only merits of Jesus Christ my blessed Saviour and Redeemer and my body I commit to the earth to be decently interred and buried by and at the discretion of my Executrix herein after named and as for and concerning such worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose thereof as followeth

I charge all my real and personal Estate with the payment of all my just debts funeral expenses the charge of proving this my will and other incident charges relating thereunto Also I give devise and bequeath unto my dear and loving wife Mary Webb all my freehold and fee simple Estates wheresoever the same are lying and also all such sum and sums of money as shall be due and owing unto me in my Books with all Securities bonds notes and whatsoever else that shall be due and owing unto me at the time of my decease as also all and every my household goods and implements of household stock and implements in trade together with all my jewels rings plate watches linnen woollen pewter brass beds bedding wearing apparel and except as hereinafter is excepted) and every other thing which I shall dye possessed of To the use and behoof of her my said wife Mary Webb and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life for her support and maintenance

And immediately from and after my said wife's decease then I give devise and bequeath my said freehold and fee simple Estates debts securities stock in trade household goods and implements of household and every part and parcel thereof unto my two nephews Mathew Webb and John Webb sons of my brother William Webb of the said City butcher equally to be divided between them share and share alike as tenants in common and not as joint tenants and to their heirs and assigns for ever

Provided always nevertheless and my will and mind further is and that my real and personal estate may continue in my family as far as can be that if it shall happen that my said wife Mary Webb shall marry again then and not till then I hereby give unto my said two nephews the sum of one hundred pounds apeice of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid them in one month after such marriage by my Executor and Executrix hereinafter named but I strictly charge that the same sums be not raised by the sale or mortgage of any my freehold and fee simple estates but out of my personal Estate as aforesaid it being my Will that my said Wife may then receive the Rents issues and profits thereof during the term of her natural life but not to sell or mortgage the same

Also I give and bequeath unto my said two nephews Mathew Webb and John Webb all my wearing apparel of what kind soever the same consist at the time of my decease to be delivered to them by my said wife as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

I hereby make and appoint her my said Wife Mary Webb Executrix and my worthy friend William Tadman of Higham in the said County Gentleman Executor of this my Will and I hereby give unto my said Executor the sum of ten pounds of lawful money of Great Britain for his pains care and trouble in the execution of this my Will and the Trust hereby by me in him reposed

I hereby revoke all former wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this to be and contain my only last Will and Testament in Witness whereof the said John Webb the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal dated the fifteenth day of May in the thirty third year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty John Webb Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Webb the Testator to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who subscribed our names as witnesses hereto in the presence of each other and of the said Testator

This Will was proved at London the twenty fourth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty three before the Right Worshipful Sir Edward Simpson Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of our Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Mary Webb widow the Relict of the deceased and one of the Executors named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased having been first sworn by Commission duly to administer
Power reserved of making the like grant to William Tadman the other Executor named in the said Will when he shall apply for the same.
