In the Name of God Amen I Elizabeth Tucker of the parish of Sittingbourne in the County of Kent Widdow being sick in body but of sound and perfect mind memory and understanding praised be God for it do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in writing in manner and form following that is to say

First and principally I commend my soul into the hands of almighty God my heavenly Father hoping to obtain everlasting life through the alone merritts of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and my body I connitt to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named and also I particularly desire a small stone placed in the ground at the head of my Grave and as touching what worldly Estate it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose thereof as followeth that is to say

First I give and devise unto my sister Margaret Merton two shifts and hankerchief and four pair of Ruffles

Item I give unto William Saltwell the younger five pounds
and unto John Saltwell five pounds to be paid him at the time of the Expiration of his apprenticeship if he shall so long live if not to my Executrix

Item I give unto Margaret Saltwell one silver spoon
and unto Elizabeth Saltwell six silver teaspoons

and if there should be any money left after my Legacys and funeral Expences are paid which I desire to be paid I give and devise thereof unto Thomas Saltwell and George Saltwell three pounds apiece

Item all the rest and residue of my personal Estate whatsoever I give the same unto my Executrix and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my sister Susan Saltwell sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this seventeenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty six John? Tucker Signed sealed published and declared by the Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have attested the same in her presence

The above registered will of Elizabeth Tucker late of Sittingbourn deceased was proved the thirteenth day of March 1737 before the Rev’d James Hensbridge clerk lawfull Surrogate to the Worshipful George Lee Doctor of Laws Official General to the Rev’d the Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Susannah Saltwell sister of the said deceased and Executrix herein named to whom administration of the goods chattles and credits of the said deceased was committed she being sworne well and truly to perform the same.
