In the name of God amen the xxixth day of May 1632 In the yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles by the grace of god of England Scotland France and Ireland Kinge defender of the Faith ec the eight and in the year of our Lord god One Thousand Six hundred thirtie and twoe
I Richard Tonge of Borden in the County of Kent beeing in good helth and of sound and perfect Remembrannce thankes bee god for it doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme followinge
First and principallie I Comend my soule into the handes of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by whose merrittes Ihope to bee saved And my body to bee buried att the discrecon of my Executor heereafer named

Item I give and bequeath to Mr Michaell Berisford Vicar of the parish of Borden aforesaid twentie shillings intreating him to preach att my burial for the Justificacon of my loving Frendes which shall be there

Item I give to the poore people of the parishe of Borden aforesaid twentie shillings
Item I give to Katerin my loving wife twoe chests wich shee had before I married her
Item I give to my said wife one paier of sheetes

Item I give to my sonne William Tonge my best bedsteddle standing in my best chamber my best Feather bedd and boulster my Rugge One paier of blankets one paier of sheetes my Curtaines and Vallance my great deale chest my biggest brasse pott and my great brewing Tunne

All the residue of my household stuffe I give and bequeath to my sonn William Tonge And to my twoe daughters Mary Tonge and Frannces Tonge equally to bee devided betweene them

And the Residue of all my goodes and Chattles whatsoever unbequeathed I give to my said sonne William Tonge whome I make sole Executor of this my last will and Testament

This is the last will and Testament of mee the said Richard Tonge made and declared the day and yeare above written Concerninge the disposicon of all my landes and Tenemenets whatsoever

First I doe hereby give and graunt full power and authority to my brother Nicholas Tonge and to my cousin James Tonge of Bredgar in the Countie of Kent or to any one of them within the space of two yeares after my decease to Alien and sell award for the beste price and value they or one of them can my house and landes with Thappurtenannces scituate lyeinge and beeinge in the parish of Leaneham in the said County of Kent
And the money thereof cominge and arising I will the said Nicholas Tonge and James Tonge or one of them to pay and give as I have appointed and sett downe in a Schedule to this my last will annexed

Item I will and devise my landes called Smithes danes with thappurtenances which I purchased of Ambrose Tomlyn to my sonn William Tonge and to his heires and assignes for ever

Item I will yearely to my daughter Sara Dowle the wife of John Dowle duringe her life the some of three poundes of lawfull englishe money att the Feaste of St Michaell Tharchangell and Thannunciacon of our blessed lady the virgin Mary by even and equall porcons The first payment therof shallbee and begin att which of the said Feasts that shall first happen next after the decease of Katerin my wife
And for default of payment of the said three pounds a yeare yearly I hereby will that it shall and may be lawfull to and for the said Sara Dowle and her Assignes to distrayne in and upon one messuage and twoe barnes and upon one Tenement now in the Tenure and occupacon of John Wiger And in and upon one Maulting howse and upon two Orchardes two Cherry gardens and upon Seaven peeres or parcells of land with Thappurtenances All which said premises are together scituate lyeing and being in the parish of Borden aforesaid in the said County of Kent and bounde to the Kinges his way there west to the landes of (blank) Ashenden gentleman And to the landes of the heires of William Spatchurst north To the landes of the heires of the said William Spatchurst and to the landes of Thomas Bond Easte And to the landes of the said Thomas Bond Southe.
Provided allwaies and my will and meaninge is that if the said Sara Dowle shall goe about to Alien or sell the said Annuity or Rent charge of three poundes a yeare Then my will and meaning is the said Annuity shall cease determine and bee utterly voyde.

All the Residue of my landes and Tenements whatsoever with Thappurtenances scituate lyeing and being the parish of Borden in the said County of Kent I will and devise to my said sonn William Tonge and to his heires for ever

In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale per me Richard Tonge

Whereas I Richard Tonge of Borden in the County of Kent by my last will and Testament bearing date the xxixth day of may In the yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles by the grace of god of England Scotland France and Ireland Kinge defender of the faith etc the Eight amongst other thinges have given and granted full power and authority to my brother Nicholas Tonge and my cousin James Tonge of Bredgare or to any of them att any tyme within the space of two yeares next after my decease to Alien and sell awaye for the best price and value they or one of them can my house and Lands with Thappurtenances scituate lyeinge and beeinge in the parish of Leaneham in the Countie of Kent
And the money thereof coming and arisinge I have by my last will and Testament Willed the said Nicholas Tonge and James Tonge or one of them to paie and give the money which they or one of them shall take and receave for the said house and landes as I the said Richard Tonge have sett downe in this schedule to my said will annexed which is here sett downe as followeth

Videll First I will & appoint the said Nicholas Tonge and James Tonge or one of them to paye to Kateryn my wife the some of Fiftie poundes which I am bound in bond to paye

Likewise I would have the said Nicholas Tonge and James Tonge or one of them to paie to Elizabeth Guildford of Bredgare in the County of Kent Widdowe the some of Forty poundes and the use which I am likewise bound in bond to paey

Likewise I would have the said Nicholas Tonge and James Tonge or one of them to paie to my daughter Frances Tonge the some of Twelve poundes and the use which I am likewise bound in bond to paie

Likewise I would have the said Nicholas Tonge and James Tonge or one of them to give to my daughter Leedes tenn poundes and to my daughter Dowle ten poundes

All the rest of the money which shall remaine of the said house and landes I would have the said Nicholas Tonge and James Tonge or one of them to give to my twoe daughters Mary Tonge & Frances Tonge equally to be devided between them
