In the name of gof Amen The twentithe day of October in the Yeare of our Lord God 1591
I William Tong of Tunstall whole in bodie and in perfect remembrance thankes be given to God to make this my present last will and Testament in manner and forme following.
First I give my soule to Allmightie god, And my onelie hope is to be saved by and through the merites of Christes passion : And my body to be buryed in Tunstall churche.

Item I give to the poore people in charitable alms iij£.
Item I give my lande and tenements lying and being in Lenham to my sonne Richard and his heyres forever.

Item I give Anne my wife out of the same landes & tenements yearlie during her naturall life forth shillings to be payde quarterlie by even porcons and for lacke of payment she shall distreine for yt in the same Landes and the distresse to deteyne until she be fullie satisfied and payed.

Item I give all my lande lying in Newchurche to my son William and to his heires.

Item I give all my landes that I bought of John Rowe lyinge in Bredgar to Anne my wife for terme of her life.
And after her decease I give the same landes to my son William and to his heires.

Item I give to either of my daughters viz Joane, Marie, Elizabeth and Susan two anngelles.

Item where I gave one rent charge of xls by yeares of my brother Simon goyng out of all his landes and tenements in Bredgar Stockeburie and Tong, as yt appearethe by a deede indented thereof to me made; my meaning is that yf the monie in the sayd deede conteyned be not payed according to the provise therin mencioned that then I give the same rent charge of xls a yeare to my sonne Nicholas Tonge and his heires. And yf the sayde money of fortie poundes be payed according to the provise aforesaid, then I give the same fortie pouneds to the same Nicholas Tong and his assignes.

Item --- where I gave one other rent charge of five pound by yeare of Solomon Pordage gent going out of all his landes in Rodmersham, Sittingbourne, Graveney as yt appeareth by a deede indented therof made; my meaning is that yf the three score pounds therin conteyned be not paid according to the provise therin mentioned that ------------------ the same rent charge of vj£ by yeare to Anne my wife and to her heires. And yf the sayd threescore pounds be payed according to the provise, then I give the sayde Lx£ to my sayd wife towards the payment of my debtes.

Item I give all my goodes and chattelles to the said Anne my wife whom I make my sole executrix of this my last will & testament.

In witness wherof I the sayd William Tong have written this will with mine owne hand & subscribed my name. By me William Tong manu propria. These being witnesses
