In the name of God Amen - I Stephen Stringer the Elder of the parish of Little Mongeham in the County of Kent Yeoman being weake and ill indisposed in Body but of Sound and P'er'fect memory praised be God for the Same Do make and Declare this my Last will and Testament in writing this five and twentieth Day of April in the fourth yeare of the Raigne of our Sovraigne Lord James the second now King of England Anno? Dm? 1688 as ffolloweth Imp'remi's I comend my Soule into the hands of God my Creator trusting by the holy meritts of Jesus Christ my Redeemour to be made ....... of a better life after this mortal life ended my body I comitt to the Earth to be buryed at the discretion of my Executo'r hereafter named

Item I do hereby make nominate institute & appoint Mary my Deer and Loving wife and Stephen Stringer my Son Joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament
Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my Daughter the Sume of one hundred pounds of Lawfull money of England to be paid unto her by my Executors within twelve months next after my Decease
Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary the Sume of one hundred pounds of like money to be paid unto her by my Executors within twelve months next after my Decease
I give and bequeath unto Sarah my Daughter the Sume of one hundred pounds of like money to be paid unto her by my Executors at her age of one and twenty years or day of marriage which shall first happen
Provided allwayes and my mind and Will is that if any of my Said Daughters Shall dye & dep'ar'te this life before she or they are to receive their said portion according to the the true meaning of this my Will then I Will that the portion of her or them so dying Shall fall unto the said Mary my Loving wife to be att her disposeing according to her Will & pleasure

I give and bequeath unto the said Mary my wife during her natural life all my Messuages Lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever situate sett lyeing and being in the parish of Staple and in the Parish of Ash next Sandwich in the County of Kent or either of them and Comand? after her Decease I give and bequeath all the Said Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments with all and every of their Appurtenances unto my Said Son Stephen Stringer and unto my Son John Stringer theire heires and assigns for ever Equally to be devided between them
Provided allways that if either of my Said two Sons Stephen Stringer and John Stringer Shall Dye & Dep'ar'te this life without heires of their body before they come to be possessed of the said Messuages Lands and Tenement then from and after the Decease of my Said wife I give & bequeath the said Messuages Lands and Tenem'en'ts unto the Survivor of them the Said Stephen or John Stringer my son & to his heirs and assigns for ever
provided also that if both of of my said Sons Stephen Stringer & John Stringer Shall both of them Dye without Heires of theire bodyes before they come to be possessed of the said Messuages Lands and Tenements then from or after my Said Wife Decease I give & bequeath all the Said Messuages Lands Tenements & Hereditaments unto my said Son William Stringer and unto my Said three Daughters Elizabeth Mary and Sarah and to their heirs and Assigns for ever equally to be devided between them
Provided further & my will is that if my Personall Estate shall not amount to pay my Debts & Legacies before mencioned that then all my Said Lands and Aforemencioned Shall stand chargable to pay my Said Daughter's portions of one hundred pounds apeece hereby given and bequeathed unto them by this my Will

Item I give and bequeath unto my Said Son William Stringer the Sume of five pounds of Lawfull money of England to be paid unto him by my Executors within twelve months after my Decease I haveing allready provided for and P'ar'sed to him a proportionable Share and P'ar'te of my estate

Item as for all other my goods chattells Stocke Cropp? and P'er'sonall estate whatsoever & wheresoever of what nature and or quallity Soever not before bequeathed I give & bequeath the same unto my Said Executors before named to inable them to pay and or charge? my Debts and Legacyes before mentioned and revoking all former Wills by me made I do hereby declare this my will in two Sheets of pap'er' contained to be my Last Will & Testament In Witness whereof to the first sheet thereof my hand to the second Sheet my hand and seal have Sett the day and year first above written Stephen Stringer Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the Said Stephen Stringer the Testator to be his Last Will and Testament in the P're'sence of
