I Edmond Sherwood of Ashford kerseymaker in the County of Kent being in good health and memory praise be the lord do make and ordaine this my last Will & Testament in manner and form followinge.

First I doe give to my eldest sonne Hilkia my house and lands bought of Master WRAIGHT in Northlane in Ashford with all the appurtenances and to Mary his now wyfe dureinge their naturall lyfes
And after their deceases to their children Mary Elizabeth Rebacca and to their heires for ever to bee equally devided betweene them.

Also I doe give to my sonne John tenn pounds which is in full of two hundred pounds promised him in lands and money at his marriage.
And also I doe give to his sonnes John James, Helkiah Samuell fforty shillings apeece att their sowell (several?) ages of one and twenty years to be paid by my Executor.

Also I doe give to Thomas the sonne of my sonne Joseph the Workhouses and shopps and stables and lands bought in Ashford bought of my Brother READER at his age of one and twenty years and to his heires for ever but if he dye before his said age, then I give it to my my(1) two sonnes Hilkia and John and their heires for ever:
and the rent of it to my Grandchild Ffreerson til the sd Thomas my grandchild be of the sd age of one & twenty yeares. Shee the said Mary FREERSON is to beare the reparations and to leave it so repaired at the end thereof.

also I do give to my daughter FREERSON five pounds to bee paid to her a whole year after my decease.
Also I do give to her sonne John my Grandchild five pounds to be paid 2 years after my death.

And I do ordain & appointe my sonne John to be my Executor of this my last Will & Testamt and to pay debts & legacy & funerall expences also my minde and Will is that my household bee devided as I shall appointe mandate under my hand in writinge and I doe intreate my Cozen READER and Master Henry WALLIS and my Cousen John COLTE to be my overseers of this my said Will & Testamt and he or shee that Will not stand to this my Will to loose the benefitt of this my said Will,

and to this my said Will & Testamt I doe sett to my hand and seale and doe publishe it to bee my last Will and Testament dated the tenth day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Six Hundred & Sixty Three. sealed and published and delivered in presents of

Translation: Proved Sunday 6 October 1667 Will of Simon(?) Sherwood in presence of Wm LOVELACE, Clerk and Paul LUBNI, Notary public.
