In the Name of God Amen I John Ridley of Bassetts Corner in the Parish of Wrotham in the County of Kent Farmer very well knowing the Certainty of Death and Frailty of this Human Life being now weak in body tho’ of sound memory and understanding (Praised be God for the same) am willing and desirous that my Estate Goods Cash and Effects be disposed of in manner and form following
viz: First and Principally I recommend my Soul to the Almighty God thro’ his Mercy and the Intercession of my Blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to partake of those Eternal Joys Prepared for all well doers my Body to the Earth to be decently Interred by my Executors herein after mentioned

Then I give and bequeath to my Daughter Valentina Ridley the Bed and the whole Furniture of the Chamber over the Kitchen
and also to my aforesaid Daughter Valentina Ridley the Sum of one hundred Pounds to be paid to her by my Executors hereinafter mentioned in the space of six Months next after my Interrment

Then I give to my Son John Ridley of the Parish of Westram in the County of Kent and to my Son in Law John Smith of Trotters Cliffe in the said County all and singular the Remainder of my Goods and Effects Husbandry Tackling Stock of all kinds Bills and Bonds and Implements of what nature soever to be betwixt my said Son John Ridley and Son in Law John Smith equally and Justly divided

do make my said Son and Son in Law my Joint Executors and am desirous that after Paying the aforesaid Legacy my Lawfull Debts and Funeral Expences they will in Brotherly Love make an equal Division as aforesaid

Do Conclude this my last Will and Testament disannulling and making void all other Words and Wills whatever this fifteenth day of May in the Year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty five as Witness my Hand and Seal John Ridley
